Good Day to All....I'm new on the windsurfing waters (1 year), long time kayaker (8 years)! Because I miss being on the water when its windy (bad paddle days), I decided to add windsurfing to get more watersports time when I can't use my yak.....windy days I sail and calm days I paddle!
I'm ready to buy my own board and sail rig and would like comments about the size etc. for a
235 lb sailor. Most of the local advice has been Mistral Prodigy or Exocet Pacer because of the higher volume (255)! Any ideas !!!!!!  Sumo Sailor

Sorry that this is not a direct answer to your question...take a look at the Learners guide to windsurfing and dig around. http://sites.google.com/site/learnersguidetowindsurfing/Home

Try to assess your gear needs based on your skills and of course your body weight. This is Florida so we have lots of wind biased toward the lighter side. Take your time here and chose wisely. Is money an issue?

Keeps us informed on your decision...Both Miami and Daytona have shops that will help you. Call them. http://sites.google.com/site/learnersguidetowindsurfing/community

Gray:

Check out www.mauimalones.com

I am located in Jupiter, and by February will have a shop where you can go see and buy the gear.

Look for updates on that soon on the website.  In the mean time, I am working with Paul who is up at the Stuart Caseway most any day the wind blows.  He has a bunch of the equipment to try out, and if you like it, I can get you hooked up with the gear.  The board that would be really good for you is an RRD Easyride medium.  Plenty wide, totally covered eva deck so it won't beat you up, and still a good shape with footstraps for you to progress on.  I can get you one at a really good price as well!

email me at info@mauimalones.com

Thanks,

Rick Randall
