So a lot of people missed out on the Spring Fling event this year!  I would like to get something going in November..........

Hopefully we will be passed the storms season then, and there should be enough winter residents arriving by then to ensure a good turn out.

If you are interested in helping out or in participating let me know so we can get this thing planned.

windsurfer friend said your group might be interested in some older boards, a couple years ago he gave some and they were turned into doubles for people with special needs.

Anyone interested?  contact me.

This will hopefully help you with tracking the number of attendees.

I have a perfect board for you!  It is the Tabou Windstyler.  It is a new school longboard that was used for the Windsurfing Magazine board tests last year.  James can probably tell you about it.  It was a pre production version, so it is a bit heavier than what the later boards were, but it is a fun board for sure.  Contact me for the price and any more info on the board.

Ok, so I have arranged to be off from my bill paying job the weekend of May 8 and 9!

Let's fling this thing into gear!  My idea is to have a 2 day festival of fun on and off the water.

We will have a variety of events so that everyone has a chance to participate in some aspect of it.

There will be some slalom and possibly long distance racing, some sort of GPS competition, maybe freestyle in at least a demonstration form.  Hopefully Paul will give some introductory lessons to anyone interested in experiencing the sport.

We can do some BBQ action at the beach.  I will get an experienced racer to give some sort of clinic.  We will get some cold beverages flowing at the end of the day, maybe I can get a semi local famous videographer to shoot some vids of the action.

Canadian Dave has generously volunteered his boat again this year.  We will need some help with checking in, and scoring competitors.  Someone to operate a grill, pass out water, act as cheerleaders, photographers, beach ambassadors.

There will be a small entry fee to offset the costs involved in doing this, maybe $20-25?  If you are interested in having T shirts, medals for winners and the like, the cost would need to rise.  If we do it as more of a communal fun event we can keep the cost way down.......

Let me know of any and all suggestions you have for this ASAP.  It takes a bit of time to pull even a basic event together!  If the wind gods smile on us like last year, this will be an awesome weekend of fun for everyone!

James Douglas, a man I met recently and a real ambassador to the sport,  was nice enough to take some pictures and document my current "state of the art" long board.   That's just a joke, this is the board I'm trying to find a replacement for.

For anyone who doesn't know, he has a pretty cool blog with some great videos windsurfing and kiting the Fort Pierce area.  Like I said, he was nice enough to take some pictures and post them on his blog (see the link below).

Ideally the board would be a good beginner board with a bit of width, a centerboard, and some good old fashioned "LWL".  I'm trying to replace an old Hi-Fly 750 CS which weights in somewhere around 50 + lbs (more or less impossible to carry out of the surf with your rig).

I think the Hi-Fly is early 80's vintage, so I'm honestly interested in almost anything, as it will likely be newer and thus lighter.  Please feel free to call or email me.

Thanks,

Brandon Rouse
